Mrs. Eula Belle Falls Anthony, 96, of 426 South Congress Street, York, South Carolina, transitioned from this life Friday, May 18, 2018 at her home. 

Eula was born in Bullock’s Creek (York County), South Carolina to Ashley and Ella Jeter Falls. She graduated from Jefferson High School, where she played basketball.  Upon graduation, she married Harrison Eugene “Gene” Anthony.

Eula was a very talented lady.  She was a licensed beautician, with an Associate Doctoral of Beauty Culture by the National Institute of Cosmetology.  She was one of the first black hair salon owners to operate in York.  Eula also served her community for over 70 years by providing beauty services to Wright Funeral Home. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star for over 50 years.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Ashley and Ella Falls; her husband, Gene; a foster son, Maxie Webber; and a son, James D. Anthony, Sr.

Eula leaves to cherish fond memories one son, Harry L. Anthony of the home; a daughter, Gwendolyn Kennedy (Samuel) of Raleigh, NC; foster sons: Erskine Lindsay of McConnells, SC, David Webber of York, SC and Jerry Oates of Columbia, SC; a foster daughter, Jean Barnette (Charles) of Rock Hill, SC; a daughter-in-law, Alberta Anthony of York, SC; a brother-in-law, Henry Anthony of Forrestville, MD; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Galilee Baptist Church in York, SC, with Rev. Charles Ashley, Sr. Pastor presiding, and Rev. Dr. Benjamin McCaskill eulogizing.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 23rd at the funeral home.  Eastern Star rites will be observed during the visitation.

So sorry to have read about the passing your dear loved one.

I am so sorry for the loss of your loved one.

You have my deepest sympathy; my heart is with your entire Family at this time of sorrow.

I Pray that God soothes your breaking hearts during this time of bereavement and that he continue to Bless and Comfort you thereafter; as only he can. Death IS the most devastating pain that you can feel and I too share you pain.
