Zula (Wilkins) Ewing

Mrs. Zula Ewing, 83, of Sharon, SC, departed this life on Friday, March 25, 2022 at Atrium Health - Kings Mountain, NC. 

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Wednesday, March 30th at Wright Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in York, SC. Services will be live-streamed from http://www.facebook.com/WrightFH1914. 

Zula was born August 17, 1938 to Augustus "Gus" and Elma Wilkins in Nash County, NC.  In her late teens, she moved to New York to work for the late Dr. David Lesser, and there met Willie L. Ewing. In 1960, they married, and from their union was born two children, and three grandchildren.

Zula was a hard worker. She loved spending time cooking and sewing. She would make a mean fruit cake and could fry some chicken. She also loved the racetrack and the "lotto." She was the life of the party, and would keep you laughing for hours. She could be "hell on wheels" if you were on her bad side, though.

Zula is survived by her husband, Willie L. Ewing; daughter, Charlene Ewing; son, Tyrone Ewing; grandchildren: Charlena Purdie, Sedrique "Sed" Ewing, and Channe'l Ewing; a sister, Barbara McDonald; a brother-in-law, John McDonald; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She will be greatly missed.
