William Bunch Obituary
Mr. William Lee Bunch, 89, of Lake Wylie, SC, departed this life Sunday, August 30, 2020 at Belaire Healthcare Center in Gastonia, NC.
William Lee Bunch Jr, affectionately known as Piggy, was born on December 12, 1930 to the late Genoeve (Hogan) Bunch and William Bunch Sr. in Harlem New York. He was preceded in death by his late wife Loretta Bunch. They were married on July 3, 1953.
William served in the United States Army and fought in the Korean War. He later worked for New York City Transit as a bus driver and retired after 30 years of service. He lived the majority of his retirement in Buffalo, New York, West Palm Beach, Florida and Lake Wylie, South Carolina where he enjoyed the sunshine and laid back lifestyle.
William is survived by his six children, William Bunch III (Linda), Lawrence Bunch, Alexander Bunch, Ralph Bunch (Valerie), Katherine Hunter (John) and Jennifer Bunch,
Grandchildren Angela Hunter, John Hunter Jr, Clifford Hunter, Latrice Bunch, Loretta Bunch, Lawrence Bunch Jr, Ralph Bunch Jr and Christine Bunch and his brother Alan Bunch, sister Evelyn Nelson, and many loving great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
On August 30, 2020, God called our dear William Lee Bunch Jr. home. Beyond our understanding our hearts are at rest because we know that somewhere in all his wisdom, a loving God knows best.
Funeral services will be 2:30 pm, Sunday, September 6, 2020 at the funeral home, with family visitation 30 minutes prior. Burial will follow at 10:00 am, Monday, September 7, 2020 at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery.
