Mr. Vince Lee Mintz, 64, of 1720 Devonwood Drive, Columbia, SC passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at his home. Born September 19, 1959 in York, SC, he was a son of the late Anderson and Carrie (Adams) Mintz.
Vince, better known as Buster, spent his youth being raised on a working farm in rural York, and learned how to work hard at a young age. He graduated from York Comprehensive High School in 1977, and promptly joined the United States Army, where he served from 1977 to 1980 and learned construction and utilities management.
These skills would serve him well as he worked for Manning Construction and himself for over 20 years framing houses, installing floors and windows, and painting. He worked several more years at various outfits, including the Dorn VA Medical Center and Travelodge Motel chain, performing maintenance and housekeeping duties.
In addition to his parents and infant sibling, Buster is preceded in death by a beloved brother, Roy Mintz.
He leaves to cherish fond memories his siblings: Janie Dixon of Rock Hill, SC, Willie Mintz of Fayetteville, NC, Pearly Burris (Walker) of York, SC, Geneva Bankhead (Lonnie Gregory) of Rock Hill, SC, Tony Mintz (Erica) of Columbia, SC, and Linda Gerald of Coats, NC; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
