Mrs. Gill may be viewed from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 2:30 pm, Thursday, February 3, 2022 at the funeral home, with burial to follow at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Sharon, SC. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 on Thursday, February 3rd prior to the funeral service.
Ms. Vicie Gill, 86, of 310 Willow Oaks Circle, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the home of her son, Montell (Audra) Gwinn .
She was born August 29, 1935 in Smyrna, SC to the late Johnathan and Inez McCoy.
She attended Jefferson High School in York, SC. At an early age, she joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church, and was a faithful member until her health began to fail. In her early years, she moved to Kansas City and worked at Owens Corning for many years . She then moved back to Clover, SC where she was the longest living resident at Willow Oaks Apartments for over 35 years.
She loved being with family and friends and adored her grands and great-grands. Her favorite past time was sitting on the porch with her bestie, Willie Green, watching the day go by. Whenever you asked her how she was doing her answer was always “I’m so,so, ain’t no point in complaining.”
She is preceded in death by her parents and three sisters: Jennie Lee Chambers, Lillie Mae Stevenson and Arelene Moore
Surviving to cherish fond memories are her five children: Vilene (David) Lusk, Marilyn Adair, Tovia (Missy) Gill, Montell (Audra) Gwinn and Amber Adair; six grandchildren: Jermaine Lindsay, Courtney (Jake) Boehmann, Johntavious McCoulley, Charmaine Lindsay, Jacob and Christian Gill. Nine great- grands, Tyler Adair, Ashton Cook, Sydney Helper, Eli Gorham, Conner and River Boehmann, Ariel and Jeremiah Lindsay and Harmony Gill. A devoted and loyal friend to the end, Willie Green Phillips; as well as a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
