Thomas Gregory Ballinger, formerly of Summerville, SC, passed away on June 6, 2024, in York, SC.
Greg, age 51, was born on August 4, 1972, in Charleston, SC, son of Tom and Daphne Ballinger. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He leaves behind his sister, Julie Warren (Craig); nephew, Dillon Warren (Hannah); niece, Olivia Warren (Trevor); great niece and nephews; aunt, Kay Alexander; and many friends and extended family.
Greg graduated from Garrett High School, and he attended International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) L.U. 776 Electrical Apprenticeship program.
He worked in all areas of construction, but his best work was accomplished as a high-end finish carpenter. Greg was not only a skilled carpenter but also a talented artist and photographer, capturing the beauty of the Lowcountry in his photographs.
Greg’s love for baseball, skateboarding, and bikes started at a young age and continued throughout his life. Later he became an avid golfer. He will be remembered for his passion for these hobbies and his dedication to mastering them.
A memorial service will be announced. Condolences can be made at Wright Funeral Home in York, SC.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Thomas Gregory Ballinger.
His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
