Struve Roderick Cherry, 59, was born July 6, 1960 to the late Dennie L. and Gladys (Leftwich) Cherry in Washington, DC. He departed this life at his home on Sunday morning, July 28, 2019 in Clover, SC.
He came to the Lord at an early age, and often attended Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Washington, DC, where he worked with his father and mother in the ministry.
He was a loving husband, and always greeted everyone with a smile on his face. His joy was in encouraging others.
Preceding him in death are two brothers, Carlton Cherry and Glenn Cherry.
Surviving to cherish fond memories are his wife of eleven years, Hildred Gainey Cherry of the home; two step-daughters, LaTonya A. Atkinson and Stephanie A. Allen both of Charlotte, NC; his mother-in-law, Mildred Gainey of Charlotte, NC; brothers and sisters-in-law: Thomasine Robinson (Don), Bertina Grainger, Arthur Lee Gainey, Darline McMillon (Terry), and Raymond C. Gainey; and a host of nieces and nephews.
