Roy Elliott Gore

Mr. Roy Elliott “Mouse” Gore, 64, of 206 Hunter Street, York, South Carolina entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Magnolia Manor in Rock Hill, South Carolina.  Born November 15, 1958 in York, he was a son of the late Gladys (Montgomery) Gore and John Robert Gore.

Roy was a 1977 Graduate of York Comprehensive High School.  Roy confessed Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of White Hill AME Zion Church. There, he served faithfully as a member of the Hymn Choir, Usher Board, Men’s Ministry and he worked with the Trustee Board often, because he was never one to say no. He was a lifelong fan of the Miami Dolphins and the Los Angeles Lakers, and loved to watch WWE Wrestling. He also worked for ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­in cleaning services at Pharr Yarn for many years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gladys M. Gore and John R. Gore; his siblings: Minnie Gore, Bonnie L. Gore, Debra D. Gore, Flora L. Gore and Cheryl A. Gore; and two sisters-in-law, Jean Gore and Barbara Gore.

He leaves behind to cherish fond memories two sisters, Roberta Madison (William) and Cora Elaine Love (Otis); four brothers, William H. Gore, Robert A. Gore (Peggy), Gordon E. Gore (Shirley), and Terry L. Gore; as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, January 22, 2023 at White Hill AME Zion Church in York, SC, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Mr. Gore may be viewed from 1:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the service.
