Robert L Dockery, Sr.

Elder Robert Lee Dockery, Sr., 85, departed this life Sunday, August 16, 2020 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC.  Born September 7, 1934 in Bennettsville, SC, he was a son of the late Alice Leak Dockery Johnson and Ceaser Luther.

Robert became saved July 3, 1969, and then a minister in the United House of Prayer August 9, 1970.

He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids, fishing, watching the news, going to church, helping others and being a minister in the church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Robert Lee Dockery, Jr.; a daughter, Ernestine Dockery; and three brothers, William Dockery, Walter Lee Dockery, and Thomas Dockery.

Mr. Dockery leaves behind to cherish his memory his children: Demetria A’yanna Dockery of Rock Hill, SC, Ricky Dockery (Sondra) of Rock Hill, SC, Linda Broady of Buffalo, NY, Maya Broady of Rochester, NY, Monetha Dockery of Newark, NJ, Lisa Edwards (Mark) of Hertford, NC, Robert Jr Dockery of Newark, NJ, Roger Dockery of Newark, NJ, Bashar Abdullah Muhammad (Umi Nyasia) of Austell, GA; two step-children, Jermaine Hilton and Marsha Hilton; a brother, John Henry Dockery; two sisters, Ann Ferguson and Jennie Mae Dockery; as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, and several grandchildren he thought of as his own, Jamaal Dockery, Demaria Adams, Sir King Lee Dockery and Razya Iyanna Robertson Dockery.

Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon, Thursday August 20, 2020 at the United House of Prayer in Rock Hill, SC with the Apostle Raymond Barksdale officiating. Burial will follow at Uniondale Cemetery in York, SC.
