Renita (Darby) Finley

Mrs. Renita Darby-Finley was born June 22, 1950 in River Rouge, Michigan to the late Joe and Margaret Darby.  She departed this life on April 24, 2023 in Fort Mill, South Carolina surrounded by her loving family.

Renita accepted Christ in her life at a very young age, growing up at Union Second Baptist Church in River Rouge, Michigan. She graduated from River Rouge High School in 1968, where she was a member of the marching band and played the clarinet. Renita attended Highland Park Community College to learn nursing, but she finished her career as a machine operator for Chrysler Corporation.

She married Willie Finley, Jr. on June 26, 1998. They enjoyed hosting family gatherings and supporting ventures for their many nieces and nephews. Her favorite pastime was playing cards and listening to Motown music and other oldies but goodies. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death her brothers, Corwin Brent Darby, Van Darby, LaRoyce Darby, and Audwin Trent Darby; her sisters, Chana Ragan and Mavourneen Ross.

Surviving to cherish loving memories are her husband, Willie Finley, Jr.; her daughter, Lisa Moyers (Kenneth); her grandchildren: Kenyon, Kameron, Kensli, and Kendall; two stepsons, Derrick Charles Finley and Kenneth Lamar Finley; her brother, Joe Darby (Charlotte); her sisters, Joette Darby and Christie Johnson (Bernard); sisters-in-law, Zeda Darby and Patsy Darby; and a brother-in-law, Jay Ragan; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held 10:00 am, Friday, May 5, 2023 at Clora Funeral Home, River Rouge Chapel, 1789 Coolidge Highway, River Rouge, Michigan 48218. www.clorafuneralhome.com
