Randy Adams Obituary

Mr. Randy Adams, 66, formerly of Clover, SC, departed this life on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Atrium Main Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Gethsemane Apostles and Prophets Church in Clover, SC, with Apostle Willie T. Lowery presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm prior to the service.

Randy was born on March 15, 1958, in Clover, SC to John and Catherine Adams. He was the third child out of fourteen siblings. He obtained his GED from Central Piedmont Community College.

Randy had a deep passion for music and singing, playing both the bass guitar and acoustic guitar. Additionally, he found joy in writing worship songs. Randy had three children: Ashley Adams Ratchford (Dennis) of Crouse, NC, Randall Adams of Charlotte, NC, and Jamira Adams (Matthew Hartman) of Durham, NC. Later on, he was fortunate enough to remarry and become the stepfather of Monte Gonner of Kuwait and Steven Gonner of Edmond, OK. Randy possessed a multitude of talents and worked for various prominent companies in the Charlotte area. He also co-owned a car shop and auto parts business in Charlotte, NC for more than two decades. In his later years, he discovered happiness in driving trucks across the country, allowing him to visit 48 states in America. Randy enjoyed traveling, but what made it the most pleasurable was the fact that he was able to travel with his best friend and wife, Atha Adams. Randy was a member of Gethsemane Apostles and Prophets Church in Clover, SC. Known for his jokes and ability to bring laughter to the room, he always had a cheerful disposition and loved bringing smiles to others' faces. Above all, he loved the Lord, cherished his family, and found the greatest joy in spending time with them.

Randy was preceded in death by his beloved father, John Adams, as well as his sister, Lisa Adams, and brother, Thomas Adams.

He is survived by his three children, two stepsons, his Mother, Catherine Adams, his wife; Atha Adams, and his grandchildren; Hongda Wang, Avery Ratchford, Jackson Ratchford, Malai Adams, Melanie Adams, and Mason Adams. Also left to cherish his tender memories are his siblings: brothers; Daniel Adams of Rochester, NY, Phillip Adams, Edward Adams (Teresa), Norman Adams (Sara), Johnny Ray Adams, and Joe Adams (Sheena) all of Charlotte, NC; sisters include Sandra Adams of Charlotte, NC, Joyce Witters of Bowie, MD, Sarah Hubbard (Randy) of Rock Hill, SC, Cathy McClellan (Pastor Carl) of Dallas NC, and Naomi Montgomery (Pastor Jeremiah) of Gastonia, NC; and host of nieces and nephews.
