Nelda (Mary) Thibodeaux Obituary

Mrs. Mary Nelda (Briscoe) Thibodeaux, 82, of Church Point, Louisiana went to be with the Lord on September 21, 2022 at the home of her daughter in Lake Wylie, SC. Nelda was born on January 1, 1940 to the late Ollie Sr. and Iris (Brasseaux) Briscoe.

She is preceded in death by two sons, Kurt Thibodeaux and Brian Thibodeaux in infancy; and her brother, Carol Briscoe.

Nelda is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Dan) Wiggins, her grandchildren: Victoria and Avery Wiggins, Romni (Sain-R) Edwards, Danielle Metcalf, and Tyler Thibodeaux. "Memaw," as she was affectionately called, was also blessed with six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Additionally, Nelda is survived by her siblings: Calvin, Ollie, Jr. (Angela), Kate and Polly (Van).

She was a lifelong hard worker who raised two children on her own. She was loved dearly and will be missed.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Harvest Manor, Hospice and Community Care, and all the friends and family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to your local nursing home, hospice care, and/or to the American Cancer Society.

All services will be private with the family.
