Mrs. Nancy Ann Tate Hambright, 87, of Clover, SC transitioned from her earthly home on Friday, May 16, 2025 at White Oak Manor in York, SC. Born August 13, 1937 in York County, she was a daughter of the late William "Bill" and Ezell (Floyd) Tate.

Nancy was a 1957 graduate of Roosevelt High School, where she was the Salutatorian of her class and Miss Roosevelt. She attended Friendship College for one year and her career goal was to become a nurse.

Nancy retired in 1997 from Pharr Yarns Textile Plant in Clover, SC. She and other textile workers traveled to the U.S. Capitol in 1990 for a rally in support of textile trade legislation. Nancy was a Christian woman who loved God, her family and her church family.

Before her health declined, Nancy was a dedicated member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She faithfully attended Sunday School, sang on the Mass Choir, and served faithfully along with the other members of Pleasant Grove's Missionary ministry visiting sick members in their homes, skilled care facilities, and hospitals. She was also involved in the Adopt-a-Highway program.

Nancy was an exceptional cook and baker. Pound cakes and sweet potato pies were her specialties. Impatiens were her favorite flower. She was a very loving, caring, funny lady, and was always willing to help someone who was in need, even though she did not have much herself. Her presence will be greatly missed in our homes, community and church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clement Hambright; her oldest daughter, Clementine "Tina" Hambright Kilgore; brothers: William Lewis Tate, James Haskel Tate, Ronnie Tate, Bernard Tate, and Malcolm Tate; sisters: Bessie Lee Tate White and Lothel Tate.

She leaves to cherish fond memories her children, Phyllis Hambright McGill and William Hambright, both of Clover, SC; one sister, Geraldine Tate Sharps (Rev. Grady Moss Sharps) of Charlotte, NC; her grandsons: Bryan Kilgore and Christopher Kilgore both of Gastonia, NC, Devin McGill of Clover, SC; a son-in-law, Artie Kilgore of Gastonia, NC; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
