Michael "M & M" Anthony Mills

Mr. Michael Mills, 56, of 174 McFadden Street, Rock Hill, SC, passed away Friday, April 5, 2019 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC.  Born June 12, 1962, M & M, as he was affectionately called, was a son of Hattie Moore Mills and the late Wilma Mills.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 13, 2019 at White Hill AME Zion Church in York, SC with Rev. Kinston Jones, Sr. officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday, April 12th at the funeral home.

Michael Anthony “M&M” Mills, 56, of 174 McFadden Street, Rock Hill, SC, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 5, 2019, at Piedmont Medical Center/Hospice Center with his devoted mother by his side.

Mike was born on June 12, 1962 in York County to Marie Hill and was adopted by Wilma and Hattie Mills. He was loved and adored by his parents and after the death of his father, Mike took care of his mother until his passing. He will be truly missed by his mother and all that knew and loved him.

Mike was a graduate of Rock Hill High School in 1980. He was employed by the Rock Hill School District and Comporium Communication in Facilities Management. At one point, he stepped out on faith and established a cleaning service of his own, M & M Cleaning Service.

Mike was a lifelong member of White Hill AME Zion Church and was active in the Men’s Choir and Men’s Ministry. He loved his family and was a friend to many people in his church, community, and surrounding areas as he did not meet a stranger. Mike was a die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and shopping with his brothers. He doted on those he loved and they on him.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Wilma Mills.

He leaves to cherish fond memories, his mothers, Hattie Mae Mills and Marie Hill; his sisters, Shirley B. Moore, Debra Martin (Gene), Alice Rene Lowery (Grover) of York, SC and Elaine Brown of Charlotte, NC; his brothers, Samuel David Brown of York, SC, Robert Maurice Hill (Tanise) of Charlotte, NC, and Mario Hill (Franitra) of Rock Hill, SC; four very special cousins, Susan Smith,  Michelle Mills, Billy Smith, and Kwesi Smith;  his special friends, Pat Hope, James Hope, Mike Cousar, Tony and Punchy; and a host aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family. 

In our lifetime, there are some people that make you laugh a little louder, smile a little bigger and live just a little bit better…..M&M was that guy! He will be missed by everyone, especially on special occasions when he was the life of the party. “M” we all love you and will never forget the joy you brought to our lives. May you rest in Heaven among the angels.
