After a hard-fought battle with cancer, Mr. Michael Brendon Moore went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 15th, 2022. He departed this life from Atrium Health – Main in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was 34 years old.
Michael gave his life to Christ at an early age. He was a faithful and devoted child of God, serving as a junior usher and acolyte. Michael was a member of New Home A.M.E. Zion Church, York, SC, 29745.
He was a Manufacturing Quality Specialist at Schaeffler Group USA, Inc. for five years before pursuing his passion in general contracting, and opening his own business, “Moore and Mercantile” in 2019. Michael gained knowledge of the construction industry from his apprenticeship at “Brothers and Hammers,” working for his uncle James Spencer Adams, whom he loved dearly. Everyone who met Michael would remember his infectious passion for his work. He had an unmatched work ethic that he got from his dad.
In his free time, Michael loved traveling, spending time with family, and friends was an avid “Legoer” as well as listened to all genres of music and tinkering with electronics. He always made sure to spoil his loyal companions, James Johnson, and Miles Bennett Moore – the best dogs there ever were.
Michael was known to be a truly wonderful, generous man, son, brother, and friend, that will be missed by all who were honored to know him.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents Melton and Lula Desseree Bratton Moore and James Willis and Lucille Logan Adams.
Left to cherish loving memories are his parents, Calvin Bratton and Elizabeth Adams Moore of the home; one brother, Adam Melton Moore of Raleigh, NC and one sister, Amber Malea Moore, of Columbia, SC; god-mother and aunt, Rev. Strauss Moore Shiple of York, SC and a host of other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests
be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts
and your minds in Christ Jesus. –Philippians 4:6-7 (NRSV)
