Melissa D Phillips

Melissa Danita Phillips, 48, of Gastonia, NC went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. Melissa was born on November 4, 1974 in Chester, SC to Martha Phillips and the late Arthur Lee Allison.

Melissa graduated from Hunter Huss High School in 1993. Melissa worked in retail and in the fast-food industry for the majority of her life.

She enjoyed cooking, working, singing, dancing, and spending time with her family.  

She loved her grandchildren with her whole heart, and she enjoyed spoiling them. She was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, friend, niece, etc... who was always there when you needed her. She will be remembered by many as a provider, caretaker, protector, and nurturer. No matter who you were if you needed a place to stay or a hot meal, she would give it without hesitation. Melissa will be truly missed by her family and those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Melissa is preceded in death by her Father, Arthur Allison; Brother, Timothy Phillips; Grandmother, Alma Phillips; and Aunt, Hattie Allison. 

Left to cherish her fond memories are her Mother, Martha Phillips; her daughter, Erica Phillips; her son James Seigle; Her three brothers Willie Phillips, Napolean Phillips, Tommy Phillips all of Gastonia, NC. Her uncles Chris Phillips (Lynn), Billy Phillips and Tommy “Gate” Phillips all of Gastonia, NC; One great-uncle, Harry “Pete” Phillips (Susie); Her three grandchildren; Emari Phillips, Hailey Phillips, and Qasim Mitchell and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
