Mary C (Dixon) Sims

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Langrum Branch Baptist Church, 1500 McFarland Road, York, SC with Rev. Richard Pickering, Sr. officiating.  Burial will follow at White Hill AME Zion Church Cemetery, 2255 Old York Rd in York. 

Walk-thru will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at the funeral home.

 Mrs. Mary Catherine (Dixon) Sims, 89, of 19 Watts Street, York, South Carolina departed this earthly life on Friday, February 10, 2023 at her home.  Born July 24, 1933 in York, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Mozelle Starnes Dixon.

Mary attended White Hill AME Zion Church from a young age, later in life joining Langrum Branch Baptist Church.  She worked as a housekeeper for many years.

In addition to her parents, preceding her in death are her husband, Paul Wylie Sims; and a son, Arthur Lee Sims.

Surviving to cherish fond memories are her children: Sarah Mickel of the home, Freddie Sims (Yolanda) of Clover, SC, Peggy Blake of Newport, SC and Ronnie Sims of York, SC; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; special friends, Mike Smith and Deb Burris; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
