Mrs. Mary Inell Paden Crome, 89, daughter of the late Elliott Paden and Hollie Starnes Paden, was born February 12, 1932, in York County. On Saturday, June 19, 2021, Heaven opened its doors to receive Mary, another angel.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Graveside, Friday, June 25, 2021 at Grand View Memorial Park in Rock Hill, SC with Rev. Kinston Jones officiating. The Interment will immediately follow services.
Mrs. Crome may be viewed from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Thursday, June 24th at the funeral home.

Mrs. Crome was educated in York County Schools, graduating from Emmett Scott High School of Rock Hill, South Carolina. She furthered her education, graduating from Friendship Junior College and Winthrop University. Mrs. Crome taught in the Rock Hill School District for many, many years. After retirement, she continued to tutor students in her home, as well at White Hill A. M. E. Zion Tutorial Program. She also volunteered at schools to assist teachers and a librarian.
She was a faithful member of White Hill A. M. E. Zion Church, where she taught the Junior Sunday School Class, sang in the Musical Choir, served on the Usher Board, and was a Class Leader. She also sang with the South Carolina Conference Hymn Choir.
Mrs. Crome was a devoted member of White Hill No. 350 Order of Eastern Star and was Co-chair of the Life Members Council of the Rock Hill District Missionary Societies. As an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. for 52 years, she served as an Area Coordinator for South Carolina and in several positions, including President, for the local Rock Hill Chapter.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter L. Crome, Sr., her son, Walter L. Crome, Jr., five brothers, and one sister.
Mrs. Crome leaves to cherish fond memories her three loving daughters, Doris Williams (Fred) of Spring, TX, Yvonne Zellars (Curtis) of Dearing, GA, and Gwendolyn Wilson (Bishop Marion) of Rock Hill, SC; five grandchildren: Rodney (Gina), Travis, Ivy, Ivan, and LaGwenda; seven great-grandchildren: Gianna, Donovan, Jakai, Isaiah, Skyy, Phoenix, and Kashton; one sister-in-law, Cora Paden of Roselle, NJ; one Godson, Greg McMichael of Stone Mountain, GA; a special caregiver, Jessie Jamison of Rock Hill, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers, and friends.
