Mary Jane (Phillips) Barnett

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Wright Funeral Home, with Rev. Ryan Godfrey officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York, SC. 

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the funeral home. Mrs. Barnett may be viewed as well from 2:00 to 5:00 pm on Friday, February 26, 2021.

Mrs. Mary Jane Phillips Barnett, 74 of Clover, South Carolina, entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at White Oak Manor Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the Late Samuel & Ella Phillips and Frank & Pearl McCollum; born on October 2, 1946.

Mary Jane was educated in the Clover School District. She joined Liberty Hill AME Zion Church at an early age. She enjoyed the singing of the choirs and the preaching.  Mary worked faithfully for Dixie Yarn (Ti-Caro) for 30 plus years as a Spinner. She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching wrestling, Walker Texas Ranger, Gun Smoke, and Soap Operas and talking with Margaret Ann. Mary Jane enjoyed spoiling her brothers Donald Ray and Sammy Kay and son Bobby, they were her priority daily as she made sure food was available for them to eat. She was a caring person and would do what she could for her family.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter- Little Miss Phillips, sister-Alice Faye Watson, brothers- Bobby Williams and David McCollum, nephew little Bobby Williams, daughter in law-Jannie Nelson Barnett

Mary Jane leaves to cherish her three sons: Rev. William Barnett (Wanalyn) of York, Leroy Barnett of Clover, and Bobby Wayne Barnett of the home; Three grandchildren: Michael Barnett of York, Jonathan Barnett (Miranda) of Clover, and Tiffany Clark (Marquis) of Gastonia. Five great grandchildren Ayden, Cameron, Jaxon, Tamaria, and Jeremiah; five sisters: Barbara Jamison of Gastonia, Phyllis Lindsey and Ella Phillips of Charlotte, Marcella Beard of Clover, Frankie M. Cancer (Elder Vernard) of Columbia; five brothers: William and Carl Phillips (Rita) of Gastonia, Donald Ray and Sammy Phillips of Clover, Sylvester Phillips (Yvette) of Charlotte; one aunt Julia Dawtin Staten Island; Sister-in-law Eloise McCollum of Clover and Special children and care givers Brandon & Crystal Gay of Clover.

She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends she loved dearly. It always brought Mary Jane joy to be around her family.
