Mr. Marshall Lee Currence was born August 15, 1949 in York, South Carolina and was called home on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC. He was the son of the late William Dub Currence and Myrtle Brown Currence.
He was a devoted father, brother, uncle, cousin, and grandfather, whom everyone adored and loved to be around. He had a one of a kind sense of humor!
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ernestine Currence; one sister, Jerrie Currence; one brother, Frank Currence; and three aunts.
He leaves to cherish fond memories two daughters, Keeta Sherer (Kenny) of the home in Clover, SC and Annetta Earl of Houston, Texas; six sons, Marquis Wright (Jernay) and John Wright (Kimberly) of Clover, SC, Quentin Wright of Anderson, SC, John Currence, Sr. of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, James Currence (Wanda) of Fayetteville, NC, Jerome Currence of Orlando, Florida; two children he also reared, Craig Wright and Deidre Wright both of Clover, SC; sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Diane C. Mitchell of Clover, SC, Marjorie C. Hope (John), Flora Currence and Kathryn Berry all of Gastonia, NC; six brothers, William Currence (Hattie) and Ronnie Currence both of Charlotte, NC, Timothy Currence of Clover, SC, Charles Currence (Nikita) and Breach Rosenboro, both of Gastonia, NC and Michael Currence of Los Angeles, CA; one uncle, Bobby Johnson of Clover, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 3:00 pm, Friday, May 10, 2019 at Wright Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3 prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Clover Community Cemetery, Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.
