Margaret Agnes Sherer

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Tabernacle of Praise Church International, with Bishop Alfred Jackson officiating.  Burial will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, Tuesday, January 10th at the funeral home.

Margaret Agnes Sherer of Rock Hill, SC entered into eternal rest on January 5, 2023 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, Rock Hill, SC.

Margaret was born April 4, 1951, to the late Walter Thomas, Sr. and Osia Mae Leach-Sherer.  She was also preceded in death by her brothers, William Arthur Sherer and Bobby Dean Sherer and her sisters, Nancy Jane Good Sherer and Julia Mae Sherer.

Margaret, affectionately known as “Chunk,” attended Jefferson High School in York, SC.  She was a devoted mother, sister, aunt and grandmother.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, being in the yard planting and growing flowers – especially rose bushes, babysitting her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great niece and nephew (they all called her “Nannie”), sitting on her porch completing her word search puzzles while listening to her music and watching soap operas.  She touched the hearts and lives of all who knew her.  She will be deeply missed by all of her many family members and friends.   

Margaret leaves to cherish fond memories, one daughter Patsy Sherer Guinn (Daniel) of Rock Hill, SC, two sons, Timothy Bernard Sherer (Angie) and Alfonzo Alexander Sherer, both of Rock Hill, SC, her special friend Alfonzo Alexander Castle of York, SC, one brother Walter Thomas Sherer, Jr. (Patricia) of Clover, SC, three sisters Mary Ann Sherer Grier and Shirley Mae Sherer, both of York, SC, and Lula Bell Howell (John) of Hickory Grove, SC; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
