Lloyd Gary Logan, Sr.

Mr. Lloyd (Gary) Logan, Sr., 58, of 1201 Colby Avenue, Rock Hill, SC, departed this life Tuesday, April 2, 2019.  Born July 20, 1960 in Halifax, VA, he was a son of Rose Lee (Stephens) Logan and the late Hampton Lloyd Logan.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Monday, April 8, 2019 at Freedom Temple Ministries in Rock Hill, SC, with Rev. Herbert Crump officiating.  Burial will with Military Honors will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York, SC.

Respects may be paid to Mr. Logan from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm, prior to the service.

Lloyd Gary Logan, Sr. was born July 20, 1960, a son of Rose Lee Logan of Rock Hill, South Carolina and the late Hampton Lloyd Logan.  God called Lloyd home on April 2, 2019.

Lloyd Logan received his early education in the public schools of Capital Heights, Maryland, where he graduated from Bladensburg Senior High School.  While attending school, he worked for Xerox Corporation for a number of years.  After graduation, he joined the United States Navy, in which he served eleven years, including time spent in the Reserves.  During his Naval career, he married his childhood sweetheart, Cheryl Davis, in 1980.  Following his service in the Navy, he worked for Perolator Armored simultaneously with John H. Hampshire Plastering Company, where he learned his trade.  When he had his first son, Gary as he was affectionately called, went into business for himself, and maintained his own plastering business for 36 years.

Lloyd was a loving husband, father, son, and brother, and was often referred to as Santa Claus every day of the year.

He is preceded in death by his father, Hampton Lloyd Logan; sister, Rebecca Ferguson; and brother-in-law, John Davis.

Lloyd was blessed with a long life and leaves to cherish fond memories a loving wife, Cheryl Davis Logan of the home; three sons, Lamar and Larell Logan both of Rock Hill, SC, and Lloyd, Jr. of Upper Marlboro, MD; his mother, Rose Lee Logan of Rock Hill, SC; a brother, Ray Logan (Karen) of Rock Hill, SC; two sisters, Vivian Craig (Carl) of Rock Hill, SC, and Delores Foster of Upper Marlboro, MD; two sisters-in-law, Robin Tynes (Darnell) of Rock Hill, SC, and Helen Blake of Gastonia, NC; ten grandchildren; six special nephews, Quentin Davis, Phillip Dixon, Joe Davis, Darnell Davis, Delonte Moore, and Robert Tynes; four uncles, Roy Stephens, Vince, Eugene and Ralph Logan; six aunts, Ethel B., Geraldine, Shirley, Patricia, Mary and Virgie; two godchildren, Jasmine Lowry and Asheid Beckham; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
