Mrs. Lassie Wade Burris, 78, of Sharon, SC, passed peacefully away at home with her family.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Monday, April 14, 2025 at St. Luke #1 Baptist Church in Sharon, SC with Rev. Chico Gilmore officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church Cemetery in McConnells, SC.
Lassie Wade Burris, 78, born on June 11, 1946, to Walker Wade, Sr. and Bertha Mobley Wade who preceded her in death. Several of her siblings preceded her in death: John Wade, Charlie Lee Wade, Walker Wade, Jr., Robert Wade, Sr., Sarah Young, Amyie McCaw, Maggie Bell Kelly, Mary Sanders, Nancy Minter, and Lillie Bell Crawford.
Lassie’s greatest passion was loving her family. Her second passion was showing love through baking cakes and cooking. Lassie retired from York School District One and Carowinds where she worked for over 20 years.
Surviving Lassie are her siblings: William Saye Wade (Aggie), Jerry Wade (Phyllis), Alberta Hill, Gloria Johnson (Franklin), Julia Cox, and Janie Anderson.
Surviving her also are her Children: Charles (Rosalyn), David, William, Keith, Kenneth (Rosalind), Teresa, and Kris; as well as a loving host of Grandchildren: Maria, Taylor, Tinsley (Fentress), Kayla Rae, Michael (Abby), Kristofer (Karyssa), David, Jr., Alex, Marquise, Tyrese, Dexter, Jr., Quvary, and Kennedy. She will also be deeply missed by her Great-grandchildren: Janeria, E’norian, Trh’vale, Jah’reef, and Amour.
Lassie believed in the family we create with our capacity to love, and she also leaves her Honorary Children: Franklin, Jr., Gloria Lynn, Brian Johnson, Patricia Perrigan, Matthew and Linna Rath; and her Honorary Grandchildren are Samantha, Ethan, Monica, Stanley, Jillian, Mattison, Londyn, Austin, Asa, and Lennox.
