Kristin Karla Wiley

           Kristin Karla Wiley, of 331 Market Hall Place, Rock Hill, South Carolina passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022 at Piedmont Medical Center.  She was born November 6, 1965 to Celestine Louise Tobe Wiley and the late Harry Lee Wiley, Jr. in Brooklyn, New York.

           She was educated in Brooklyn, and graduated from South Shore High School.  After graduation, she worked several jobs from messengering to short order chef to working with special education students, until she found a position with Governor’s Hospital as a dietary aide.  Kris, as she was best known, worked there faithfully for 15 years.  She was a hard worker, traveling to work as early as 4:00 am by bus, train or cab, but was always encouraging and giving advice to both her patients and coworkers alike.  It was a true blow to her when her illness caused her to be unable to work.

            Kris accepted Christ at an early age and was a dedicated member of Grace Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York. Always a family person, she would call to check on family members who lived far away often and had a special remembrance for family birthdays.  Kris also loved to shop, cook, walk and dance.  The first-born child, she was a wonderful daughter, sister, and friend. On July 29th, Jesus heard her cries, sending her heaven-bound to be reunited with her father.    

            Kris leaves to mourn so many family members: her mother, Celestine Wiley; her brother, Kelby Wiley (Dana); four uncles: Elwood Wright (Flora), Terry Wiley (Gayle), Ryne Wiley, and Edmund Wiley; her nieces: Rashieqwa Stevenson and Shandrel Wiley; her nephew, Khaydorn Wiley; four great-nieces, Aniyah, Rain, Mariah, and Summer Rose; her great-nephew, Cameron Stevenson; cousins: Michelle, Candace, Greg, Craig, Lionel, Jay, Marty, Malik, Xavier, Arlen and Julian; as well as a host of other cousins and friends.

            Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Friday, August 5, 2022 at the funeral home.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service.  Burial will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York, SC.
