Keytiada T. M. Cooke

Miss Keytiada "Kiki" Cooke tragically gained her wings Sunday, February 2, 2020 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC.  Born April 28, 1988 in Charlotte, NC, she was a daughter of Arnetta Cooke and the late Jerry Leach.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church and Outreach Center in Gastonia, NC with Rev. Dr. Darial Jackson officiating, and Minister Jerry Pressley eulogizing.  Burial will follow at Uniondale Cemetery in York, SC.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the service.  

Better known as Kiki, she was a joyful person who loved her four girls tremendously. Her whole life revolved around her daughters: Ronisha, Jaronica, Jasmine, and Serenity. Kiki was most definitely a mommy's girl…wherever you saw her mom, most likely Kiki was close around.

Even though Kiki was a Mama's girl she had great love for her other siblings and family.  She and her older sister, Satoya (Meka) Cooke, were like two peas in a pod, or partners in crime. They were always double teaming on their brothers, Chris, Kareem, and Javaris at home, and even as adults.

Growing up with Kiki was fun but challenging because Kiki was also PRANKSTER. She enjoyed playing pranks on all her sisters and brothers and their friends. As a family, her brothers and sisters loved it, but preferred not to get caught by her!  As a mother, Kiki was very family- oriented, always shopping and throwing events for her kids. Kiki would get together with her brother, Javaris and sister-in-law, Kellie and their children for family fun in town and out of town. She always wanted her girls to smile and love family first, to get a good education and help their grandma.

Preceding her in death are her father, Jerry Leach; and grandparents: John Dulin, Christine Leach, Ruby Cooke Petty, and Burdell Leach.

Kiki leaves her four daughters and mother, Arnetta; a host of brothers and sisters: Christopher Cooke, Karamen Cooke, Javaris Cooke, Satoya Cooke, Shareka Gingles (Levar), Angelica Leach, Antonio Leach, Keyona Crawford, Jecobe Floyd (Sharrie), Shanquisha Leach, Jerry Leach, Porsha Terry, Pretty Leach, Min. Jerry Pressley, Joy Johnson, Marco Sanders and Latavius Phillips; and a host of nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and friends who she really loved and appreciated.
