Kenneth Wayne Harvell, 69, of 2178 Clyde Harvell Road, died at his home on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. He was born to Clyde T. Harvell and Sarah Lee Gregory Harvell in Rock Hill, SC and raised in York, SC. Kenneth was a roofer and master carpenter who loved making and building things, both professionally and for his personal enjoyment. He loved the outdoors and country living and cherished the beauty and peace of the woods. He enjoyed reading his Bible, playing guitar, and visiting his children and grandchildren whenever possible. He was also the biggest Beatles fan who ever lived. He will be missed and loved forever, but there is great comfort in knowing he is now healed and rejoicing in Heaven.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Rebecca; his children, Jennifer Stooksbury (Scott); Matthew Amason (Erin) of Richmond, VA; Jessica Harvell, Rachel Harvell, and Adam Harvell (Samantha), all of Clayton, NC; his father, Clyde T. Harvell of York, SC; sister, Annette Mooney of Bolivia, NC; brothers, Patrick Harvell and Linsey Harvell, both of York, SC; and grandchildren Kandace Crocker, Olivia Harvell, Kylan Stooksbury, Alex Harvell, Emma Harvell, Leah Harvell, and Xiomara Lopez. He is preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Harvell; his sister, Katie Ellen Harvell; and brothers Allen, Michael, and Ralph Harvell.
A memorial service will be held at Central Baptist Church, 110 Ross Cannon Street in York, SC, 29745 on Saturday, June 3 at 1:00 p.m. Flowers and memorials may be sent directly to the church. Wright Funeral Home is serving the family.
