Mr. John Robinson, 82, of 508 California Circle, York, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at his home. Born July 1, 1941 in York County, he was a son of the late John Frank Robinson and Victoria Sims Robinson.
He was a witness of Jehovah for over 62 years. He knew the scriptures well, even when he was hospitalized, he shared the scriptures with his nurses and others.
He loved professional baseball. He also loved talking to people and teasing.
John made his career at Mutual Arlington Textiles, working as a card handler and machinist for 25 years before retiring.
He leaves behind three sisters: Margaret Robinson, Elean Isadora Robinson and Ruby Robinson Tucker (Wallace); two brothers: Tommy Robinson (Sandra) and James Robinson; two close cousins, Mary L. Sims and Mary Ann Sims; four nieces and three nephews; as well as a host of great nieces and great nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 pm, Saturday, September 23rd at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Uniondale Cemetery in York, SC.
Memorial services will be 3:00 pm, Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in York, SC.
