Ms. Joan Miller, 82, of 310 Malik Lane, Clover, SC went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. Born August 3, 1942 in York, SC, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Ella Jane Whiteside Miller.
Joan accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Fishing Creek Baptist Church. She worked for many years as a spinner with local textile manufacturers, but her passion was for caregiving, and she ended her career as a caregiver for the York County Board of Disabilities.
She loved to sew, making many outfits for herself and others over the years—even upholstering chairs. Joan also enjoyed planting her flowers and taking care of others.
Preceding her in death are her brothers, Robert Miller, Jr., Willie James Miller and Haskell Miller.
Surviving to cherish loving memories are her sons, Michael Miller of Gastonia, NC and Stanley Miller of the home; her daughters, Janice Ashley (Darryl) of Hickory Grove, SC and Beverly McClee of Gastonia, NC; a special nephew whom she raised as a son, Tony Davis (Sigredda) of Lake Wylie, SC; her grandchildren, Keyana Miller, Keyasha Miller, Brittany Miller Thompson, and Devin Miller; her other nieces and nephews: Asia Martin, Jeff Davis, Juwyan Williams and Antonio Martin; and a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Fishing Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Reginald McClean officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York, SC.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm, prior to the service.
