Jettlue Meeks Obituary
Mrs. Jettlue J. Meeks, 100, of 7 S. Pacific Ave, York, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 23rd at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC. Born September 14, 1922 in Hickory Grove, SC, she was a daughter of the late George and Queen Jamison Jeter.
She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Gastonia, NC until she moved to York, SC to be closer to family and friends. Jettlue rejoined her home church, Mt. Zion AME Zion Church, after returning to South Carolina.
Jettlue was a lady of character. She wasn't dressed if she didn't have on her heels.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Robert Meeks; sisters, Minnie Logan, Bessie Faucett, Verline Davis, and Ethel Jeter; and a brother, Willie Jeter.
Left to cherish fond memories are a host of nieces and nephews; a special nephew, Lenzey Nichols; home caregiver, Marshiela Barbour; and special friends, Marjorie "Baby Ray" Sanders and Magdalene Rawlinson.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Mt. Zion AME Zion Church in Hickory Grove, SC with Rev. Frankie L. Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia, NC.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at the funeral home.
