Jeffrey Pendergrass

Mr. Jeffrey Pendergrass, 54, of Sharon, SC went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at home. Born July 6, 1971 in Thompson Quarter (Lockhart), he was a son of the late Geneva Pendergrass and Willie A. Thompson.

Jeffrey was a 1990 graduate of Lockhart High School, where he was the MVP for basketball from 1987-1989, and the free throw champion. He was also All Region in 1989 for basketball, playing varsity basketball for his entire high school career. An all-around athlete, he competed for Lockhart High School in baseball, basketball and football.

Following school, Jeffrey worked as a Forklift Operator for Distribution Technology for 23 years before retiring.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Geneva Pendergrass (2007) and father, Willie A. Thompson (2015); and a sister, Pinkie Ann Pendergrass (1958).

Surviving to cherish loving memories are his wife, Lois Charlene Pendergrass; two daughters, Domanique Chalesee Pendergrass and Denise Shante` Cooper (Malcolm); a son, Jeffery DeWayne Pendergrass; three brothers, Bobby Lewis Pendergrass, Carl Pendergrass, and Jermaine Mapp; his grandchildren, Daelyn Pendergrass, Layla Cooper, Tremon Roberts, Payton Cooper, Symone Pendergrass, Jesiah Pendergrass and Ariana Theodore; mother-in-law, Hattie Williams (Hyman); two brothers-in-law, Patrick Neely (Tonorris) and Antonio Neely; three aunts, Doretha Jamison, Linda Boyd, and Dorothy Robbins; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Mt. Hopewell Baptist Church in Sharon, SC with Rev. Bernice Meeks officiating and Rev. Bobby Daniels eulogizing. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the service, and other times at the home.
