James David Wright, Sr.

Beloved husband, father, and grandfather. On April 6, 2022, James (David) Wright, Sr., 76, of Orange, NJ, formerly of York, SC, peacefully transitioned from this life. He was the son of the late Alvin Z. Wright, Jr. and Reola Bowen Wright. Graveside services will be Wednesday, April 13th, 2 PM at the Rosedale Cemetery, 408 Orange Road, Montclair, NJ. Professional services are entrusted to Woody “Home for Services” in Orange, NJ.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Deloris Wright; devoted children, Keisha Stark, Tracey Wright, Kim Santos, James D. Wright, Jr., and Timothy Wright; adored grandchildren Jasmine Douglas, Zoriyah Stark, Zakeriah Stark, and Jaymia Stark; dear siblings, Linnie Miller, Cheryl Wright, and Alvina Jefferies. He was preceded in death by his brother, Stanley A. Wright.

David was a 1962 graduate of Jefferson High School in York. He attended Johnson C. Smith University prior to his relocation to New Jersey.
