On January 25th, 2020, the heavenly angels came down and guided him to glory. Born May 17, 1941 in York County, James was a son of the late Howard Lynn and Rose Easter Starr.
James loved life and his family dearly! He loved riding his moped around town and eating breakfast at Hardee’s. He also loved to engage in conversation with his siblings and nieces and nephews. He will be truly missed!
James accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior later in life with the guidance of his brother and sister-in-law. James attended Mt. Carmel Holiness Church of God under the pastorate of Willie and Shirley Starr.
He is preceded in death by five sisters, Linda Starr, Louise Kayne, Mary Wesley, Minnie Oliver and Ida Baker; and five brothers, Sherman Starr, Donald Starr, Joe Starr, Grady Easter, and Frank Starr.
James leaves to cherish his memory a sister, Cora Frye (Deacon Daniel Frye) of Alexandria, VA; three brothers, Carl Starr of Alexandria, VA, Larry Starr (Pastor Patricia Starr), and Pastor Willie H. Starr (Pastor Shirley Starr) both of Clover, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
