Memorial services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Foundation of Sarcoidosis Research at www.stopsarcoidosis.org.

James Robert Holt, 42, of Rock Hill, SC, passed away from an illness on Thursday, March 17, 2022. He left this world while surrounded by his family with his wife, mother and father by his side.

Born on July 8, 1979, in Arlington, Virginia, he was the son of Jacqueline Barnard and Leon Holt. James earned his Bachelors of Computer Science degree at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia. He later excelled in the Information Technology field for over 20 years as a Manager/ Consultant within the Healthcare field as a Data Conversion and Integration Specialist. James worked for Novant Health for over 7 years prior to working the last 5 years with Fresenius Health.

He was a loving father, husband, and son. James loved to travel, be adventurous and make every moment count. Among his favorite travel experiences, he enjoyed exploring London, Paris, and the several month-long RV trips throughout the United States with his family. During those trips, James loved to take risks such as taking ATVs to the tallest mountains, riding on helicopters, and snorkeling in the ocean. He loved spending time with his family and pursued the goal of taking his children to all 50 states before they graduated. James was more than just a role model for his children, he taught them how to code computer programs, 3D print, assemble Legos and troubleshoot any problem along the way. He was great with his hands and loved to build things, fix things, and work on cars.

James also loved electronics and the newest technology. There was nothing he could not complete. If he did not know how to do it, he would research how to until he could. He had a brilliant mind and was determined to learn as much as he could. James was extremely easy-going and humble enough to help anyone. He enjoyed mastering his culinary pit smoking skills while cracking jokes and enjoying great food and drinks with friends. James also adored riding his motorcycle with Latisha, the love of his life. He was known for his amazing smile, warm hugs and quick wit.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 15 years, Latisha Holt; daughter, Mya Holt; Son, Austin Holt; mother, Jacqueline Barnard; father, Leon Holt; mother in-law, Kim Young (Doc); sister, Latrice Owens (Micheal); brothers, Lide Owens, Richard Holt (Halvina) and Jarmar Wright; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and a host of friends.
