James Arnold Dover

James Arnold Dover, born on October 10, 1960, in York, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2024. He dedicated much of his life to working as a pipefitter, a profession that showcased his strong work ethic and technical skills. After retiring, Arnold devoted his time to caring for The Sheila Dover farm, where he found joy in tending to a variety of animals, including goats, chickens, horses, turkeys, and his beloved white mule named "Cotton."

Arnold was known for his generous spirit, often helping neighbors with their farming tasks. He had a passion for gardening, working on lawnmowers and tractors, which made him a familiar face in the community. Each year, he participated in local Christmas parades, driving his tractors and delighting children by tossing candy to them.

He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Dover; mother, Flora Lee Dover; and sister, Lisa Marie Dover.

Arnold is survived by his son, Steven Michael Dover; and sisters, Judy Dover Turrill and Betty Diane Dover Barton. His legacy of kindness and dedication to family and community will be cherished by all who knew him.

Wright Funeral Home will be handling Graveside Services to be held at Woodlawn Presbyterian in Sharon, SC on August 9, 2024 at 4pm, Russell Dover will preside.  Flowers may be sent to Wright Funeral Home, York SC.   In lieu of flowers, donations can also be made to www.liverfoundation.org
