The sun for Mrs. Jacqueline Morrison Donald, better known as Jackie, rose on November 16, 1961 in New York, New York, a daughter of Bishop Vernon Lee Parham, Sr. and the late Eula Mae Cooper Parham. A devoted Mother, Grandmother, Wife, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend, her sun set on Monday afternoon, May 8, 2024.
Jacqueline graduated from William Howard Taft High School in the Bronx, New York. Following graduation, she spent a decade working as an inspector with New York’s Department of Sanitation. After leaving the Sanitation Department, Jackie then worked as a Peace Officer for the City of New York’s Department of Homeless Services, where she served for over 10 years before retiring at the rank of sergeant.
Jacqueline lived a life filled with love, compassion and generosity. She was known for her warm smile, kind heart and unwavering devotion to her family and her faith. She was also talented in singing, creative home decoration, making organic and healthy meals, and designing personal drinking glasses. Additionally, Jacqueline was an active volunteer for her community and could always be found lending a helping hand to those in need. Her selflessness and compassion touched the lives of all who knew her.
Jacqueline leaves to cherish her memories her father, Bishop Vernon L. Parham, Sr. of Portsmouth, VA; one son, Julius Morrison, Jr. of Bronx, NY; two daughters, Lashawn Parham of Bronx, NY and Keisha Barnes Axon (Earl) of Florida; nine grandchildren: Amyr Jaiden Morrison, Kai’el Morrison, Jazarah Garrison, Laila Parham, Danai Barnes, Daron Barnes, Talia Barnes, Tiffany Rushing and Tyeisha Rushing; four sisters, Loretta Parham of Mount Croghan, SC, Lucretia Tate of Durham, NC, Irene Douglas of Pennsylvania, and Tina Parham of Hickory, NC; three brothers, Robert Parham of Bronx, NY, David Cooper of Newport News, VA, and Larry Cooper of Teaneck, NJ; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, aunts, cousins, and friends.
Jacqueline will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved and in the beauty of all of her fulfilled talents.
A repast in celebration of her life will be held 3:00 pm, Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 2263 Reece Donahue Road, Mount Croghan, SC 29727.
