Mrs. Hattie Allison, 84, of 104 South Vance Street, Gastonia, NC, departed this earthly life Monday, May 18, 2020. She was born in York County, SC on May 5, 1936, a daughter of the late Harry and Adeline McClain Phillips.
Graveside funeral services will be 12:30 pm, Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia, NC with Rev. George A. McCoy officiating. *** Numbers are still limited due to COVID-19--Only 50 persons will be allowed and all must wear masks *** Family and friends are encouraged to attend Mrs. Allison's visitation from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, Friday, May 22nd at Gold Hill Baptist Church in York, SC. Gold Hill continues to practice social distancing, so please understand that numbers will have to be monitored here as well.
A short viewing will also be held from 12 to 12:30 on Saturday before the service.
Mrs. Hattie P. Allison was a native of York County, South Carolina who was born on May 5, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Harry Lee Phillips and the late Adline McClain Phillips. Hattie transitioned on Monday, May 18, 2020 at her home in Gastonia, NC.
Hattie was a textile worker at Cinderella knits for many years. She enjoyed life, singing hymns, traveling and spending time with her family. She was a very loving person, who treated all of her nieces and nephews like they were her own children.
She was a faithful member of Gold Hill Baptist Church in York, South Carolina were she served on the usher board and various other ministries. She was such a generous, and caring person, who didn’t mind helping anyone in need. She will truly be missed by her family.
Hattie was preceded in death by her husband: Robert A. Allison; her brother: James W. Phillips; three sisters: Alma M. Phillips, Leola P. Foster, and Helen P. Anderson; and her step-son: Arthur L. Allison.
Precious memories of Hattie shall forever be cherished by her brothers: Harry L. Phillips (Pearl) of Lake Wylie, SC and Johnny J. Phillips (Mary) of Gastonia, NC; her Goddaughter: Georgia Mae Biggers of South Carolina; a special friend/cousin Mary Lindsay aka Sis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
