Mrs. Grace Wilson Blaylock Gilmore, 80, of York, South Carolina was born October 28, 1939 to the late Willie Mae Blaylock. She departed from her earthly path on Monday, December 16, 2019 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC.
Grace was educated in York County Schools, and later worked for many years as a food service worker in cafeterias, and as a housekeeper at the York Colonial Inn.
She loved to sew and color, and even made her own clothes. Always willing to lend a helping hand, Grace used her talents in many ways, sometimes guiding others and others just being a listening ear. She was even voted Resident of the Month in November of 2016 at Pruitt Health, being dubbed their “social butterfly.”
Grace leaves to cherish fond memories one daughter, Ella Rawlinson of York, SC; one son, Jose Green of Avery, NC; two sisters, Mary Ann Barnett (Wilson) of Clover, SC and Dorothy Nichols of Charlotte, NC; a brother, Jimmy Blaylock of York, SC; six grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
