Floyd Sanders

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Liberty Hill AME Zion Church in Lake Wylie, SC with Rev. Lawrence Ganzy officiating and Rev. Tawanda Berry-Harris eulogizing. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:00 pm prior to the service.

Burial will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York, SC. 

Floyd Sanders departed his life Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at the home of his granddaughter, Tanya Freeman.  He was born July 12, 1935 to the late Perry (Friz) Sanders and Camie Rogers.

Floyd was a member of Liberty Hill AME Zion Church for many years. He was a member of the hymn choir and usher board. He was a loving and kind man. He would help you in any way he could. A hard-working man, he worked as a welder for many years at Fiber Controls and with road maintenance and improvements for the City of Gastonia through Wilborn Services, Inc.

Preceding him in death are his parents, and his wife, Inez.

He leaves his daughter, Violet Bailey (Tommy) of Jacksonville FL, two grandchildren, Tanya Freeman of Gastonia NC,  Ricky Bailey of Hermitage TN, two great grandchildren, Shontavia Freeman of Greenville SC, and Christopher Moore of Gastonia NC; a sister, Agnus Sanders Kirkpatrick of Charlotte NC; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
