Elaine B Harvell

Elaine Barnes Harvell, age 75, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 20, 2025. A devoted Christian, she lived her life with faith, kindness, and love that touched all who knew her.

Elaine was the beloved mother of two daughters, Wendy Adkins Burrell (Beau) and Donna Adkins. She was a cherished grandmother to Buddy Burrell (Brittany), Dakota Privette, Elijah Privette (Ashley), and Whitney Burrell, and a proud great-grandmother to Nathaniel Privette. She was a beloved sister to Peggy Ray (Steve) and aunt to Diane Baker (Kevin) and Melinda Banks (Brandon). Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her love and encouragement into each of them.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, George and Margaret Barnes; her husband, Randy Harvell; and her infant sister, Gloria Jean Barnes.

Elaine’s life was a testament to her belief in God’s promises and her heart for others. She will be remembered not only for the love she gave to her family, but also for the warmth, kindness, and encouragement she offered to friends and all who crossed her path. She was well known for being a hard worker, an avid lover of music, and always loved a good laugh.

A service celebrating Elaine’s life will be held at Catawba Methodist Church on her birthday, Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 4pm, with family receiving friends after the service. All who knew her are welcome to join in honoring her memory.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff of White Oak Manor in York for the care, compassion, comfort, support and hospitality they provided. It is appreciated more than they know. 

Elaine’s legacy of faith, love and laughter will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
