Dorothy K (Kilgo) Walker

Mrs. Dorothy K. Walker, 77, of Clover, SC passed away September 14, 2021 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC.  

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Monday, September 20, 2021 at New Beginnings Baptist Church in Clover, SC.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm prior to the service.

Committal and interment will follow at Clover Community Cemetery.

Dorothy K. Walker was born July 20th, 1944 in Huntersville, NC, a daughter of the late Connie Lowe Kilgore and Lolthel Kilgore.

She graduated from Torrence Lyte High School in Huntersville. She worked for Mecklenburg School System as a cafeteria cook from 1982 to 1992. Dorothy later began working for ProCare HealthCare as a nurse aide from 1998 to 2020, when she retired.

Dorothy was a devoted Christian at an early age. She was a dedicated member of New Beginnings Baptist Church in Clover, SC. While a member there, she served as a deaconess, pastor’s aide, missionary board member, usher board member, and many other committees.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Walker; brothers: Joe Henderson, Bob Lowe, Steven Lowe, Jerry Lowe, and Marvin Lowe; a sister, Gloria Meaders and stepchildren: Cora Phillips, Calvene Allen, Connie Walker, and Samuel Walker.

She leaves to cherish fond memories, a daughter, Cassandra Firms-Johnson (Milynda) of Zebulon, NC; three grandchildren: Roderick Firms of Clover, SC, Rodriguez Firms of Snow Hill, NC, and Vionca Stancil of Zebulon, NC; stepchildren: Victor Walker (Cathy) of Bridgeport, CT, and Calvin Walker, Jr. of Bridgeport, CT, Virginia Harris of York, SC, Jackie Carter (Lovette) of Fort Mill, SC, and Joette Stevenson (Bobby) of Rock Hill, SC; brothers: Melvin Kilgore (Elizabeth) of Hope Mills, NC, Richard Kilgore (Joyce) of Chambersburg, PA, Terry Lowe of Alexandria, VA; sisters: Annette Brim of Woodbridge, VA, Jackey Lowe of Alexandria, VA, Constance Hargrove (John) of Woodbridge, VA; as well as a loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
