Ms. Deloris King Clark, 62, of 123 Hall Street, York, SC gained her wings Monday, March 16, 2020 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC. Born May 14, 1957 in York, a daughter of the late Ida Mary King and Rev James “RJ” Nichols.
She was educated in York Public Schools and worked for many years as a cook in several places and York Place Episcopal Children’s Home. She loved to sing, dance, cook and spend time with her family. She especially loved when all her grandchildren came to see her. And she REALLY loved watching Lifetime movies!
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Evon Gwinn.
Surviving to cherish loving memories are her children: Kesie King of Clover, SC, Pierre King (Sandra) of York, SC, Earl Clark (Britney) of York, SC, and Deondra Clark (a special friend of the family, Lamar Thrower) of Clover, SC; 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Rachel Good (Clyde) of Sharon, SC, Rene Lowery (Grover) of York, SC, James “Pookie” Gwinn (Vanessa) of Hickory Grove, SC, Francessa Nichols and Raynard Nichols both of York, SC; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Galilee Baptist Church in York, SC with Rev. Charles L. Ashley, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, Friday at the funeral home.
