Debra Kowalski Obituary

With heavy hearts, the family of Debra “Debbie” Ann Kowalski announces her passing on Monday, February 14th, 2022, at the age of 67. Debbie was born on June 22, 1954 in Milwaukee, WI, to her parents Ruth and Larry Blackstone of Milwaukee, WI.

She married Dennis Kowalski in Milwaukee, WI, on Saturday, October 26th, 1996. She had four children, Shawn, Nicole, Carrissa, and Heather, later they moved to Clover, South Carolina in 2009.

A loving mother and a wonderful wife are the tip of the iceberg in describing Debbie. She built an amazing bond with-in every community she stepped into, from Milwaukee, WI, to Omaha, AR, and finally in Clover, SC. The connections that she made are no doubt feeling the loss today.  Debbie was fortunate enough to have nine grandchildren that spread the course of fifteen years from oldest to youngest. She loved her grandchildren more than anything in the world and she cherished every moment she was able to spend with them.

Anyone who met Debbie knew there was nothing that she loved as much as her family, however she had some hobbies that she did love. It was not unheard of to see her with a ball of yarn and half of a completed blanket. Crocheting was something she also liked teaching others who wanted to learn to do what she enjoyed. She also enjoyed collecting Salt & Pepper shakers, to a point where I’m sure she didn’t even have enough room for her large collection. Arts and crafts, holiday earrings, monkeys, and koalas were also a few more of her likes.

Debbie is preceded in death by her parents Ruth and Larry Blackstone.

She will be immensely missed by her husband, Dennis Kowalski; son, Shawn (Jamie) Schultz; daughter, Nicole (Nick) Modrak; daughter, Carrissa (Mike) Hunter; daughter, Heather Kowalski; grandchildren, Tabetha, Lacey, Darrian, Emali, Kyra, Natasha, Ian, and Ja’Cari; Along with her sisters Terry Kelly and Molly Blackstone; Nieces, nephews, cousins, and many many close family friends.
