Deborah Lee Douglas, a licensed practical nurse, was greeted by her Lord at the age of 62 on September 12, 2023 at Hospice House and Community Care. Born in Virginia to Rosa Lee Stephens (preceded in death), she was never alone as she shared the family home with three sisters (Twins, Elizabeth Smith and Patricia Dover, and younger sister Carolyn Peterson) and three younger brothers (Kenneth Douglas, Donnie Douglas and is preceded in death by Claude “Doug” Douglas.) Deborah is also remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends.
For many years, she served those in need at multiple healthcare facilities. She stated that her favorite part of her career was making connections with her patients. She loved to see them smile. If not for her cancer diagnosis, she probably would have still been a nurse today.
Deborah leaves behind her only daughter, Dana Douglas, and one granddaughter, Amelia Savoie. Her beloved dog, Henry, continues to love her from afar with all others who knew her. Her memorial service will be determined at a later date.
To honor Deborah, please consider donating to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, as it was this terrible disease that she fought so bravely for many years.
