David was a hardworking man who loved life. David was always willing to help somebody where he could and make memories worth sharing along the way.
David was the son of the late Cecil and Catherine Williams Simpson; brother to Lynn Rhyner and Archie Simpson; a loving husband of 32 years to Donna; a devoted father to Cassandra McDaniel, Ethan Simpson, and Kalah Fox; and proudly wore the title of Pappy to Charleigh White, Abigail Simpson, Peyton and Corbin McDaniel, Eliza, Elam and Ellis Fox.
David enjoyed turning nothing into something, from lumber to houses, hogs to BBQ, seeds to food on the table, and most frequently strangers to friends.
His favorite sayings were:
- If you need a good hand, look on the end of your arm.
- I'm a firm believer in soap and water.
- Treat people how you want to be treated.
- Find the beauty in everything.
- If you don't know, say you don't know.
- Gotta help yourself because nobody's going to do it for you.
- A ball in motion stays in motion--that's why I keep moving.
- I'll cry at your wedding.
- Help somebody if you can.
- There ain't nothing a swift kick in the --- can't fix.
