Mr. Curtis Nathan Dempsey, II, departed this life on Friday, March 6, 2026 at home. Born October 9, 1971 in Huntington, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Curtis Nathan Dempsey and Vivian Willmon Dempsey.
Curtis was a great high school athlete, with his career spanning over the sports of basketball, baseball, and track and field, where he competed in the high jump.
Following high school, he worked in construction as a pipe layer, where he later became foreman of his crew. A lover of all things outdoors, Curtis enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Surviving to cherish fond memories are two brothers, Patrick H. Kelley and James C. Dempsey; three sisters, Paula Chaffin, Gloria Lovejoy, and Deborah Dempsey; three stepchildren, Angela Howson, Justin Howson and Toby Howson; a grandson, Nate Threatt; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
