Cilla Mae (Johnson) Reid

            Mrs. Cilla Mae Johnson Reid, 85, of Sharon, SC, departed this Earthly life November 3, 2023 at Brookview Nursing home in Gaffney, SC. Born August 30, 1938 in Wadesboro, NC, she was a daughter of late John and Jenny Johnson. 
             Cilla Mae attended York County schools. She was a faithful member of Ebenezer AME Zion Church in Smyrna, where she served as president of the Usher board, member of Steward board, Pastors Aide committee, and president of the kitchen committee. She worked at Oxford Mill in Hickory Grove and Gaffney, where she retired after many years of service. Following retirement, she enjoyed sewing for family and friends, and planting flowers in her beautiful flower beds.  

              Surviving to cherish fond memories are her son, Arizona Reid Jr. of Sharon, SC; step-daughter, Liza Howell of Hickory Grove, SC; Her sisters, Alice Johnson and Roberta Glenn, both of Smyrna, SC; Her brothers, Mackey Hall and Woodrow Hall (Teresa Hall) of Charlotte, NC; Her grandchildren: Arizona Reid III, Okesha Smith, Jarron Reid, Tyshone Reid, and Tysiana Reid; a sister-in-law, Mary Bolds of Baltimore, MD; as well as a host of great grands, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends!

          Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Friday, November 10, 2023 at Ebenezer AME Zion Church in Smyrna, SC with Rev. John E. Long officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, Thursday, November 9th at the funeral home.
