Christopher August Gage

Christopher August Gage of York, SC passed away on March 16th, 2022 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, N. He had recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon cancer and was due to start treatment on the 21st of March. He lost his battle peacefully in the presence of his wife, Ariel Kern.

Memorial Services will be held at Wright Funeral Home in York, South Carolina, on Monday, March 21st, 2022 at 11:00 am. Immediately following the service the family will be receiving visitors at their home in York for a potluck style lunch. Please bring a covered dish if you wish.

Chris was born on December 29th, 1981 to Maria Elbertse and Robert Gage, in California, where he lived most of his life. Joining the military as a Navy Corpsman with the 1st Marine Division, he served two tours in Iraq. 
Chris was employed at Filtration Group here in York, where he enjoyed his proximity to home and his work there.

He was the most loving father and husband. He was very fond of a good "dad joke" and making his children groan loudly. Chris was a gaming nerd, who enjoyed video games, Warhammer 40k, and playing Dungeons and Dragons with his family. His smile and laughter brought so much joy to his family. He will forever be missed.

He leaves behind him three children: Aurora, aged 14, Gwyndolyn, aged 12, and Lachlan, aged 8; His wife, Ariel; His Mother, Maria Furcolow and his step father Jim Furcolow; and His very loving Oma, Johanna Elbertse. Chris also leaves behind his aunts and a sister that he recently found.
