Christal (Neal) Threatt

Mrs. Christal Daneen Neal Threatt, 50, of 115 New Street, York, SC passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Atrium Health in Pineville, NC.

Memorial services will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the funeral home.  

Christal Daneen Neal Threat was born in York, SC on April 27, 1971.  She departed this life on Tuesday September 28, 2021 at Atrium Hospital in Pineville NC.

Christal grew up in York County and attended both Clover and York schools, graduating from York Comprehensive High School in 1989. She attended Shaw University, York Technical College and received various other medical certifications.  Always looking to help others, Christal spent her career working in healthcare facilities including Carolinas Medical Center and Charlotte Eye Ear Nose & Throat Associates in Rock hill SC.  She was a member of the AP&B Society #22 and the Hopewell Union Cooperative Charity #3.   She joined Hopewell United Methodist Church at an early age serving on the usher board, choir, and other committees before branching out to explore a deeper spiritual connection with the world around her. 

 A “die-hard Dallas-Cowboy Fanatic”, Christal loved watching her beloved team on Sundays up at the “Big House” with her Aunt Elaine or just spending time with family and friends.  She gave each grandchild their own special nickname and her heart.  Christal was very spiritual and truly embodied a “Butterfly Spirit” as she moved through this life. She loved butterflies, dancing, singing, working with and encouraging the youth, writing letters, good friends (to which she made many), good food, good wine, calming fragrances, bargain shopping, flea markets, and trips to new places and exciting destinations.  Two of her children’s favorite dishes were her Shepherds Pie and Seven-Up Pound Cake.  She truly had a way of making you feel special with her big heart and bright smile. If you needed something all you had to do was ask and she would be right there.  Suffice it to say, Christal will be greatly missed.

Christal was preceded in death by her Father, Johnny Neal.

She leaves to cherish fond memories, her Mother Debra Thompson Orr; Father, Willie Carl Davis (Glenice); Stepfather, James Orr; Grandmother, Pearl Love and fiance’ Robert L Green.  Six children: Nadia Lynn Meeks (Darrell), Joe Rion McCullough, Darryus Griffith, Xzavier Marquis Griffith (Roxie), Christian Davis, and Jhadarria H. Neal.  Five siblings: Vondra Love, Crystal Bridges (Evan), Jason Davis, Arnishia Franklin (Ronnie) and Khatari McMillan.  Seven Grandchildren: Z’Niya and Alana Taylor, Jakai Rion McCullough, Jakaiyah Rion McCullough, Josiah McFadden, Xzavier Griffith, Jr. and Airiana Griffith. 2 Nieces: Kara Lawrence and Gabrielle Bridges. 3 Nephews: Devan Bridges, Carlton Clyburn and Cameron Clyburn.   11 Aunts: Elaine Davis, Jane Long (Al), Carrie Neal (Dwayne), Parthenia Burris, Shelia Thompson (Anthony), Terrie Burris, Angel Love Shorter (Richard), Francis Kennedy, Brenda Orr, Barbara Orr, Annie Orr. 8 Great Aunts: Floree Crawford, Robbie Ellis (John), Hattie Hairston, Francis Kennedy, Mamie Byrd (James), Edna Thompson, Sarah Graham and Geraldine Byous.  12 Uncles: Dennis Davis (Lois) Robert Burris (Selene), Frank Love Jr. (Dorothya), Jimmie Floyd, James Neal (Doris), Billy Neal, Gary Neal, Ricky Neal (Diane), Mack Orr (Lois), Michael Orr, Dennis Orr (Anna), Andre Orr. 9 Great Uncles: Elzie Love (Addie), Alan Love (Della), James Love (Leola), George White (Loretta), Horace White (Eunice), Leon White (Lorraine), John Burris, John Crawford (Lillie Bell) and Walter Thompson (Brenda).  Adding to all of these is a host of God children, cousins and good friends who will miss her dearly.
