If I go up to the heavens, you are there;if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. Psalms 139:8
Ms. Chermaine Denshall Moore, 50 of Charlotte, North Carolina, departed this life on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, peacefully while surrounded by family and friends. She was born July 23, 1974, in York, SC.
Chermaine was born to Vireen Couser and the late Clyde Davis. Preceding her in death are her grandparents, Arthur and Ara Bell Smarr Moore, and Luke and Eula Mae Davis.
Chermaine was a 1992 York Comprehensive High School graduate. Her internal strength and courage pushed her to serve six years in the United States Navy as a Machinist’s Mate. Her service and commitment are appreciated by all.
Chermaine was the loving mother of two children, Carey “CJ” Jones and Jehyah McKnight of the home. Chermaine tirelessly encouraged and supported her children. She wanted nothing but the best for them and would go to the ends of the Earth to ensure that they were prepared for this thing called life.
Chermaine meant a lot to many people. She could easily make long lasting friendships. Chermaine loved to laugh and would even laugh at herself. She shied away from the spotlight, but didn’t mind shining a light on a situation and letting her opinion be known. If “Keep it 100” were a person, it would be Chermaine Denshall Moore! She was a loyal, direct, and honest friend who would go in the trenches with you but would let you know when “all of that ain’t necessary!” Once she knew that you were family or friend, she made it a priority to be there for you; showing up to support and be a constant reminder that she is with you. Chermaine loved her family and friends and protected them with a wall of steel. Chermaine loved hard and wanted everyone to succeed without any reservation. Never one to give up, Chermaine fought through any challenge without making excuses.
Recently, Chermaine rededicated her life to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She has now been accepted into His arms. “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9.
Those who shared joy with Chermaine and survived to cherish her memory are her mom, Vireen Couser, of York, SC, who supported her through it all and was there every step of the way; son Carey “CJ” Jones of the home, her first born and look-a-like; daughter Jehyah McKnight of the home, her calm director and organizer; brother, Charles Pendergrass of Sharon, SC; aunts; Dora Moore, and Mary Long (Marvin) of York, SC, and Mae Ruth Thompson of Rock Hill, SC; uncles, David Moore (Evelyn) of Gastonia, NC, and Phillip Davis, of York, SC. Chermaine also leaves behind a host of cousins, family, and friends. We dare not name you all for fear of omitting someone. Just know that you were a special part of her life.
Memorial services will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, June 8, 2025 at St. Luke #2 Baptist Church in Sharon, SC with Rev. Bobby Daniels officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:00 pm, prior to the service.
