Ms. Carolyn C. Chisholm, 55, of 25 Green Street, York, SC transitioned from this life on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Atrium Health in Pineville, NC. Born November 27, 1965 in York, she was a daughter of the late Calvester Chisholm, and Johnnie Mae Rawlinson Chisholm.
Funeral services will be 2:30 pm, Graveside on Sunday, August 8th at Galilee Baptist Church Cemetery in York, SC with Rev. Jermale English officiating. Burial will follow immediately.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, Saturday, August 7th at the funeral home. ***MASKS ARE STILL REQUIRED FOR ENTRY***
Ms. Carolyn Calvester Dean Chisholm of York, South Carolina, daughter of the late Calvester Chisholm and Johnnie Mae Rawlinson Chisholm, was born November 27, 1965 in York, County, South Carolina. She departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Atrium Health, Pineville, North Carolina.
Carolyn was known as “Baby,” by her uncles and “CC” by everyone else. Carolyn was a longtime member of the Galilee Baptist Church, York, South Carolina where she was the President of the YWA, President of the Musical Choir, Member of the Gospel Choir, Member of the Hymn Choir, Vice President of Breaking Bread Ministries, Sunday School Member, served on the Usher Board, Vacation Bible School Teacher, and she assisted in many other ministries. Carolyn served faithfully at Galilee Baptist. Carolyn loved her church family. Carolyn worked at Cardinal Health in Fort Mill, South Carolina for 19 years. Carolyn touched so many lives on the job and in the community. Carolyn was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, White Hill #350.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her Grandmother, Eloise F. Rawlinson. Carolyn and her grandmother had a very unique and close bond. Two influential men who were strong father figures in Carolyn’s life, Mr. James Kirk Jr. and Mr. Willie Albert Ashley, also precede her in death.
She leaves to cherish precious memories: Her children, LaQuisha Chisholm of the home, Siera Chisholm, and Sherale Chisholm of York, South Carolina, and son Dorale Chisholm of Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren: Za’Niyah, Ivyon, Alijah, Za’Quan, Mailan and Miracle; one sister, McKeece Chisholm of Rock Hill, SC one brother, James (Deidra) Chisholm of Virginia Beach, VA; a special companion for 26 years, Eddie Choates; a special aunt whom was more like a big sister, Wanda Simril of York; an aunt Ethel Rawlinson of York, SC; three uncles: Thomas Rawlinson of Rock Hill, SC, John (Diana) Rawlinson, Pineville, NC and Robert (Josephine) Rawlinson, Goose Creek, SC; Nieces and Nephews: Shankia Glover, Quantaz Chisholm, Kirk Chisholm, Denisha Chisholm, and Shanice Gill, a special cousin with whom she was raised with, Glenda Jenelle Gary, a best friend for 20 years, Delores Pratt. Carolyn leaves a host of cousins, other relatives and friends, with whom she had a unique relationship with each one of them. Carolyn loved her family, especially, her children and grandchildren, and they loved her.
